Major Duties And Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Senior Engineer, Design and Modelling to define system and subsystem functional and interface requirements.

Derive subsystem functional and interface requirements.

Develop design concepts and prototypes to confirm requirements and user needs.

Develop solution alternatives and conduct trade studies in order to make the most appropriate design decision.

Research material and component costs and availability.

Assess and document design risks.

Assist the Senior Engineer, Design and Modelling in presenting designs at technical reviews.

Create CAD models and detailed drawings of mechanical systems and hardware, specifications and parts lists.

Estimate material, component and assembly costs.

Lead first prototype design evaluation and integration.

Develop design schedules and provide progress status metrics.

Integrate, or support integration of designs into higher level assemblies.

Balance cost, performance, quality, reliability, testability and manufacturability in the overall design.

Make use of and apply best practise techniques, standards, principle, theories and concepts.

Learn, understand and comply with applicable contractual obligations and established AL TAIF Quality and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.

Maintain the confidentiality and security of all company information.

Support other members of the Engineering Department in fulfilling their roles.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required Master degree preferred
• A minimum of one to three years of experience working in the detailed design of mechanical systems, hardware and software is required.
• Proficiency in CAD and CAE tools for design, linear and non-linear modelling, simulation and analysis is required; in CREO and ANSYS is preferred.
• Previous experience with military tactical, combat or support ground vehicles is an advantage.
• The ability to work in a fast paced, team orientated environment on multiple discipline projects with changing priorities and schedules is required.
