Job Description

A concierge is a professional who serves as a guest's primary point of contact during their stay at a hotel or similar establishment, helping to fulfill requests and provide tailored services to enhance guest satisfaction. This role involves a variety of tasks such as making dining reservations, arranging spa services, recommending nightclubs, booking transportation, coordinating porter service, procuring tickets for special events, and organizing tours of local attractions. The concierge is also responsible for providing information about the property and town, making their role crucial to a guest's experience. A successful concierge is courteous, attentive, and possesses excellent communication and problem-solving skills to address guest needs promptly. Working closely with other departments to coordinate activities that ensure a pleasant and memorable stay for guests is an essential part of the job.


Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and ascertain their needs and preferences upon arrival.
  • Provide detailed information on hotel facilities, guest services, and points of interest.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Coordinate guest requests for special services such as transportation, entertainment, or restaurant bookings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local attractions, activities, and dining options.
  • Assist guests in arranging personalized tours and activities within the local area.
  • Effectively manage guest reservations and cancellations to optimize guest experience.
  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling porter service to ensure timely luggage delivery.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing packages and messages for hotel guests.
  • Liaise with other hotel staff to ensure exceptional guest service and seamless operations.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints with professionalism to ensure resolution.
  • Ensure lobby area and guest lounges are neat, tidy, and welcoming at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a concierge or customer service role preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Familiarity with local attractions, dining options, and cultural activities.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and hospitality management software.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
