The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Civil Site Manager to join our team. In this role you will be maintaining safe and clean site working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. You will be handling multiple tasks, site issues, and strong site management, and communication skills with project stakeholders.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Ensuring all site operations, safety and legal requirements are met
  • Performing quality control and assurance tasks daily
  • Performing and maintaining site inspections and documentation as per project management plan, site operating procedures, Quality plan, project specification and safety plan
  • Reviewing / verifying the civil and building services design documents are aligned with other disciplines before issuance to subcontractors.
  • Reviewing and approving method statements and risk assessments for site work activities submitted by subcontractors
  • Undertaking site supervision, inspections to ensure compliance
  • Providing field and construction guidance to subcontractors
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills
  • Facilitating resolving site construction issues with O/E.
  • Monitoring scope and assisting in the preparation of change documents and analyzing interdisciplinary impacts
  • Cooperating and communicating with the project manager, civil manager, and other project team members to ensure project progresses in line with the scope of work and approved time schedule
  • Maintaining project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Ensuring the project execution is progressing in compliance with the contract specification and approved time schedule. Report any anticipated deviations with proposed corrective action.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, scope of work, scheduling changes, and recommending actions
  • Studying project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements
  • Preparing project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends with recommending actions.
  • Conducting meetings, reviews, preparing documentation and assist the project manager and civil manager in preparation of contractual communication to owner and subcontractors
  • Reviewing the material submittal and shop drawings in line with specifications / approved design before submitting to O/E for approval. Liaise with O/E for timely approval of material and shop drawings submittal.
  • Attending the Weekly Progress Meetings (Internal as well as with O/E) and assist in preparation of Minutes of Meetings.
  • Conducting site meetings with civil design coordinator and subcontractor(s) to review the construction methods to expedite the progress.
  • Assisting with identification of out-of-scope tasks and preparation of change orders to O/E and/or subcontractors.
  • Assisting with design and schedule estimates for owner-directed change orders and subcontractors requested changes.
  • Monitoring drafting progress for civil work on the assigned projects. Assess variations, Requests for Information (RFIs) and payment claims
  • Attending and providing input to various safety, design, technical and risk meetings, workshops, and reviews
  • Implementing corrective measures for identified distractions or issues.
  • Arranging Red-Marked drawings from site and As-Built drawings from designer/subcontractors.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • 7+ years’ experience as Civil Project Engineer in primary substations.
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Transco specification and UAE standards.
  • Familiar with local rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
  • Computer literate with Auto CAD, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Preferable experience in Transco Substations & DRPC projects
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
