Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (Structures) to support the supervision of structural works, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and heavy concrete structures. The role involves assisting in quality control, construction monitoring, and ensuring compliance with technical standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Resident Engineer in overseeing structural works on site.
  • Monitor contractor’s daily activities to ensure adherence to specifications and drawings.
  • Support review of structural shop drawings, bar bending schedules, and method statements.
  • Conduct inspections of formwork, reinforcement, concrete pours, and structural elements.
  • Assist in structural testing procedures (e.g., slump tests, cube testing, pile integrity).
  • Maintain detailed site records, issue reports, and help manage site correspondence.
  • Liaise with QA/QC engineers and safety officers to enforce compliance.
  • Support the resolution of site queries and technical issues in coordination with design teams.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • 12 years of relevant structural supervision experience, preferably on infrastructure or transportation projects with a minimum of 3 years being in Abu Dhabi.
  • Solid knowledge of concrete structures, steelworks, and bridge construction.
  • Familiarity with international and local codes (e.g., ACI, BS, ADM).
  • UAE experience is an advantage, particularly in a consultant supervision capacity.
