Job Description

The Assistant Contract Manager - Civil is a pivotal role within our construction management team, responsible for supporting the effective delivery of contract administration services for various civil engineering projects. This position demands a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of legal terms and conditions specific to civil contracts. The successful candidate will assist in negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory obligations. They will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution and mitigate risks associated with contract non-compliance. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, overseeing contract execution, and supporting resolution processes for any disputes or issues that arise during the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, legal acumen, and an interest in civil engineering projects.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing all civil contract agreements accurately.
  • Monitor contract execution to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project management teams to provide contractual guidance and support.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive database of contract documentation and amendments.
  • Facilitate negotiations with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
  • Support project managers in mitigating risks and resolving contract-related issues.
  • Participate in meetings to communicate contractual obligations and project updates.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on contract status and performance metrics.
  • Ensure timely and accurate issuance of contract correspondences and notices.
  • Conduct research on legal requirements and industry standards for contract management.
  • Assist in audit preparations and ensure adherence to internal controls and processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in contract management within the civil industry.
  • Proven understanding of contract law and industry-specific regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to foresee and address potential challenges.
