Job Description

An Account Assistant plays a crucial role in the daily operations of a company's finance department. They are primarily responsible for supporting accountants and other financial professionals by performing essential administrative tasks. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial documents and reports.
  • Input, retrieve, and modify financial data within accounting software systems.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor company financial transactions regularly.
  • Provide administrative support to accountants to ensure the office runs smoothly.
  • Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments with clients and vendors.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and monitor expenditures across departments.
  • Handle and maintain a systematic archive of financial documents and records.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end financial audits and tax returns.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers to facilitate accurate accounting entries.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations at all times.
  • Generate weekly and monthly financial summaries for management review.
  • Address inquiries from colleagues, clients, or vendors regarding accounting issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an Account Assistant or similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are critically important.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
