Job Description

As a Computer Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware and software systems. This role involves managing a variety of technical issues involving both hardware components and software applications. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will also provide customer support on technical issues and answer any questions about user-operated systems. Your contributions will ensure the smooth operation of computer systems, making a significant impact on the user experience and productivity within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems and software applications.
  • Assemble and disassemble computer hardware components for repairs and upgrades.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users experiencing technical difficulties.
  • Perform regular maintenance to prevent system failures and optimize system performance.
  • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software components and manage order replacements.
  • Document technical solutions and maintain comprehensive logs of technical issues and resolutions.
  • Setup and configure network systems and ensure connectivity for all devices.
  • Collaborate with IT team members for complex problem-solving and project implementations.
  • Stay updated with current technological trends and learnings to improve service delivery.
  • Ensure data security and prevent unauthorized access through firewall and antivirus measures.
  • Conduct routine backups and system updates to safeguard data integrity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Computer Technician or similar technical support role.
  • Excellent understanding of operating systems, hardware, and software applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with an ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Good knowledge of computer networking systems and internet connectivity.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for technical support.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with non-technical users.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • A degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
