Job Description

You will lead the team to enable successful STATCOM-project delivery for global FACTS projects. Scope of team responsibility includes projects’ control software design, simulations, implementation, studies, verification and commissioning activities. Your daily work will be interacting with Design Team members, other global engineering teams, Project Managers / Project Engineering Managers, Tendering and NPI (New Product Introduction) program leaders.

Role & Responsibility

  • Participate in projects’ schedule planning and ensure resource availability
  • Support and drive team on achieving project delivery targets
  • Mentor first-time-right culture and development of skills
  • Responsible for leading overall requirement, design, implementation, and Develop and maintain Control sw-design processes and tools for global delivery model.
  • Review and approve design documents, implement, and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost
  • Continuously improving the product in terms of delivery speed, stability and reliability
  • Provide technical guidance that influences outcomes to other people, supporting moderate complexity projects and/or tasks
  • Play a key role in engineering design reviews and technical leadership, identifying potential project risks and technical weaknesses and proposing safe, reliable and compliant solutions
  • Execute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements
  • Hiring and onboarding.
  • People Leadership for the team

Required Qualification

  • M.TECH/M.E (or higher) in Electrical/ Power Electronics/Power Systems/ control system with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge in Electrical Power Engineering with good understanding of compensation systems, power electronics and understanding of control theory behind HV/EHV grid connected devices.
  • Knowledge and experience of EMTDC / PSCAD, PSS/E or MATLAB/Simulink
  • Understanding project engineering processes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Must be flexible with working hours and willing to travel to support projects globally.

Desire qualification

  • Project/team leader experience
  • Experience in international projects with working exposure of international standards as IEC, IEEE etc.
