Job Requirements

Alkegen has an exciting opportunity for a Lab Technician to join our Quality Team. Lab Technician will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our laboratory environment. You will be responsible for conducting routine and specialized laboratory tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Your expertise will contribute directly to product development, and quality control processes that are crucial to Alkegen’s success. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot, and a passion for working in a collaborative and innovative team.

Responsibilities

• Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Properly dispose of materials and maintain a clean, organized lab.
• Collect, prepare, and handle various samples for analysis, following safety and quality standards.
• Conduct a variety of standard and specialized tests in accordance with established protocols to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment, ensuring all instruments are properly calibrated, functioning, and ready for use.
• Monitor and maintain lab inventory, including ordering supplies and ensuring the availability of necessary chemicals, reagents, and equipment.
• Conduct regular checks and inspections to ensure that all laboratory processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Accurately record test results and document findings. Analyse data and report any discrepancies or issues to senior staff.
• Identify and resolve any issues with experiments or equipment, escalating problems when necessary.
  
  

Qualifications/ Experience

• At least 4 years of recruiting (agency or internal)
• Bachelor’s degree in laboratory technology, Biology or Chemistry.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment operation.
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and best practices.
• Previous experience in a laboratory 3–4 years.
• Familiarity with quality control standards, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with equipment or experiments.
