Job Description

An Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing electrical installations and maintenance in various settings, such as construction sites, industrial facilities, or commercial buildings. This role involves ensuring compliance with national, local codes, standards, and safety regulations. The Electrical Supervisor should possess considerable knowledge of electrical systems and know how to lead a team of skilled electricians and other workers. They must be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of solving complex electrical issues efficiently. Working closely with engineers, project managers, and clients, the Electrical Supervisor ensures that electrical projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders involved.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of electrical workers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all electrical installations adhere to engineering plans and schematics.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electricians and apprentices.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans and schedules.
  • Review and interpret electrical blueprints and technical diagrams accurately.
  • Ensure timely procurement and availability of necessary electrical materials and supplies.
  • Resolve electrical malfunctions and plan preventive maintenance to avoid downtime.
  • Maintain detailed reports on project progress, changes, and any issues encountered.
  • Conduct safety training sessions to promote a culture of safety among team members.
  • Coordinate with utility companies for service connections and power system upgrades.
  • Ensure all electrical tools and equipment are properly maintained and serviced regularly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in electrical systems installation and maintenance.
  • Proven experience in supervisory or leadership roles within the electrical industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Valid electrical license or certification is a significant advantage.
  • Proficient in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment and tools.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours or shifts to meet project deadlines.
