Computer Technician (225-628)

A Computer Technician plays a critical role in ensuring that computer systems and networks function efficiently and effectively. They are responsible for troubleshooting issues, performing installations, and carrying out maintenance of computer hardware and software systems. As a Computer Technician, you will work with other IT professionals to manage an organization's IT infrastructure and provide end-user support to staff members. Responsibilities

• Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, and printers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues that arise in systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users on hardware and software topics.
• Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on computer systems and networks.
• Analyze system logs and identify potential issues to prevent future outages.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, replacements, and other critical updates.
• Respond promptly to service issues and requests from end-users and staff.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to enhance network and system efficiency.
• Ensure all software and hardware is up-to-date with the latest security patches.
• Advise and contribute to IT infrastructure improvements and optimization strategies.
• Ensure data privacy and integrity through rigorous security protocols and practices.
• Manage inventory of technical equipment and track equipment lifecycle and depreciation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Computer Technician or similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and PC components.
• Proficient in Windows operating systems and popular office software suites.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in problem-solving.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills to effectively assist non-technical users with inquiries.
• Relevant certifications like CompTIA A+, Cisco Certified, or similar are desirable.
