Job Title : Head of Sales India & Global Director Oils & Fats Catalysts (OFC)

President & Managing Director, India Region &

Head of PL Life Science & Performance Catalysts

Purpose of the position :

As Head of Sales India, the position ensures -

  • profitability (CM1 & CM2) of BL Catalysts in India, sales & business development strategy of BL in India, applying Evonik standards according to local laws and regulation, sales volumes & revenues, account management, management of Customer Complaints, sales channel management.

As Director OFC, the position ensures -

  • that strategies are developed, coordinated and implemented to secure and sustainably expand the global market position of the OFC product group
  • that the product, service and innovation portfolio of the OFC product group is analyzed and managed with regard to complexity, profitability, business growth, life cycle, regulations, legal requirements and risks.
  • that an effective internal and external communication and marketing strategy for the OFC product group is developed, coordinated and implemented.

Key Responsibilities :

As Head of Sales India:

  • Develops, aligns, and executes sales & market development strategy for India as part of regional strategy together with Regional Head of BL including and beyond established products and markets/ applications
  • Screens, identifies and assesses new business opportunities beyond established products and markets/ applications and develops strategies for their realization
  • Executes business and pricing strategy that is aligned with global PL and Regional Head of BL
  • Manages and enables Sales & Customer Service Team of BL Catalysts in India to prepare and negotiate offers and contracts, execute and process customer orders, monitor accounts receivables and ensures timely payment, timely plan and forecast sales, manage local stock sales, initiate customer complaint management.

As Director OFC:

  • Ensure that global business strategies are developed, coordinated and implemented to secure and sustainably expand the market positions of the OFC product group.
  • Work towards identifying and evaluating new business opportunities beyond the established products and markets/applications, and developing and implementing strategies to realize them, incl. innovation project portfolio.
  • Coordinating and defining pricing strategies and pricing corridors.
  • Supporting Sales in the preparation and negotiation of supply and cooperation agreements, Controlling in the BL planning process, and Production & Technology in the development of production concepts

Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in business development and sales activities across various regions in a leadership capacity.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and trends, and to plan strategies to achieve business targets.
  • Strong resource management skills.
  • A strategic perspective to understand the big picture and plan initiatives beyond current budget requirements.

Additional Skills and Abilities Required for This Position:

  • Proven people leadership skills and experience.
  • Account management skills with large customers and senior contacts.
  • Strong budget accountability, with the ability to define and drive measures to achieve financial goals.
  • Excellent resource management and responsiveness to internal and external requests, including prioritization and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to act as a change agent for the ECI organization, owning ideas and blueprints, fostering strong cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration, and driving implementation.
  • Excellent language (English) and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Technical background and understanding are essential; industry experience in petrochemicals, fine chemicals and related fields would be an added advantage.
