Role Overview
The QA Tools & Innovation Lead (Sr. Manager) is responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and management of software testing tools within the Enterprise IT organization, with a strong focus on SAP applications. This role blends technical expertise, project management, and communication skills to drive quality and efficiency across the software development lifecycle. Acting as the primary liaison with the central quality engineering team, the lead ensures alignment with testing standards and tool strategies, with a focus on automation. In addition to managing toolsets, the role involves hands-on work in both manual and automated testing, emphasizing collaboration, continuous improvement, and the delivery of reliable, high-quality enterprise software solutions.
What Will You Do In This Role
- Identify and evaluate testing tools based on project requirements and organizational needs, with a focus on tools like TOSCA and LiveCompare Analytics.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of continuous testing pipelines within the SAP, Web Applications, TOSCA, Jira, Xray, and SOLMAN ecosystem.
- Drive the adoption of GenAI and Agentic AI solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency in QA activities.
- Pilot new QA technologies and develop proof-of-concepts in collaboration with QE team.
- Assess current testing processes and tools, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure continuous improvement and compliance by regularly reviewing, updating, and training on applicable testing SOPs and best practices for effective testing.
- Oversee the maintenance and technical support of testing tools, ensuring they are up-to-date and integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Contribute to the enhancement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure the testing team remains at the forefront of technology.
- Support performance testing initiatives using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, and NeoLoad (good to have).
- Define and implement test automation strategy.
- Lead and perform development and maintenance of automated test scripts(SAP(Fiori/GUI), Web Apps, Mobile Apps, API).
- Monitor automation execution and troubleshoot failures.
- Mentor and coach a team of testers, providing guidance and support.
- Set clear priorities for the team, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback.
- Organize training sessions for team members to ensure they are proficient in using testing tools and continuous testing practices.
What Should You Have
- Educational Qualification Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in TOSCA automation testing across SAP (Fiori/GUI), Web, and Mobile platforms. Certification in TOSCA is mandatory.
- Proven experience in leadership and team management skills.
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical, quality assurance, or related regulated environments is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise
- Strong Experience in leading, maintaining and managing test automation frameworks, script development & maintenance within TOSCA to align with evolving project requirements.
- Strong proficiency in setting up and managing Continuous Testing Pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Azure DevOps (ADO) within SAP, Web, TOSCA, Jira, Xray, and SOLMAN ecosystems.
- Proven experience in leveraging Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic AI solutions to enhance QA productivity and efficiency.
- Skilled in implementing service virtualization techniques to simulate service dependencies, improving testing reliability in complex environments.
- Exposure to Test Data Management, API testing, and Data Integrity testing within TOSCA.
- SAP Domain Knowledge
- Familiarity with SAP modules including FI, CO, MM, SD, QM, ARIBA, CONCUR, Fieldglass, and exposure to SAP S/4 HANA environments.
- Proven involvement in SAP implementation or upgrade projects, particularly in testing roles.
- Testing Tools & Methodologies
- Proficient in defect management tools including ALM, Jira, and Octane for defect identification, reporting, and tracking.
- Experience with testing tools and frameworks such as Jira XRAY, TOSCA, and LiveCompare Analytics.
- Strong background in diverse testing methodologies including Manual Testing, Automated Testing, Performance Testing, and Load Testing.
- Good to have experience with performance testing tools like LoadRunner, JMeter, NeoLoad, or similar.
- Familiarity with other automation tools like UFT, EggPlant, Selenium is advantageous.
- Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to issue identification and resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced Agile, hybrid Agile, or Waterfall environments while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- High attention to detail and a proactive mindset to prevent issues before escalation.
