About The Role

Role Description:

As a Senior Manager for Tax technologies you will oversee the end-to-end Tax capabilities, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, adhering to Tax legal mandates, and driving process improvements. You will be responsible for leading, architecting, designing, and implementing end-to-end solutions in this space. As a Sr. Manager within the Technology team, this role will also help guide the transition from global ERP instance on SAP ECC to the S/4HANA Intelligent Enterprise and integrating SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) and Vertex for In-direct Tax determination. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide vision and strategy to evolve global Tax capabilities and transformation
  • Lead end to end design and architecture of tax solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with local and international tax regulations
  • Ensure cross functional process tax implications are assessed and mitigated but not limited to Plan to Stock (PTS), Order to Cash (OTC), and Source to Pay (S2P), etc.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate into technical design specifications to ensure the solution meets business objectives
  • Ensure seamless integration of tax solutions but not limited to SAP modules, such as Finance (FI), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Materials Management (MM)
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to deliver and sustain Amgens S/4HANA ecosystem utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Develop innovative solutions that drive speed to value via AI/ML and leading control practices

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Experience in leading complex architecture, design and configuring all aspects of Tax Technologies at a global scale leveraging Vertex and Thomson Reuters for sales & use Tax
  • Hands-on experience in configuring, leading and supporting SAP Document and Reporting Compliance
  • Ability to identify and deploy SAP leading practices that will drive business value for Amgens tax professionals in areas such as profit in inventory, GAAP by legal entity, and tax-optimized data and ledger structure
  • Developing global Tax deployment strategy, people management and passion for mentorship in fostering the development of talent

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in SAP Advanced Intercompany, SAP Material Ledger, and optimized transfer pricing setup in SAP
  • Experience in Corporate Tax suite, Automation, and Reporting
  • Thomson Reuters suite Direct tax and statutory reporting is a plus
  • Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)

Professional Certifications (please mention if the certification is preferred or mandatory for the role):

  • Certification in Vertex (or) SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (Mandatory)
  • Certification in Thomson Reuters (preferred)
  • Relevant SAP S/4HANA FICO certification (preferred)
