Staff Nurse - Emergency (225-802)

The role of a Staff Nurse in the emergency department is both challenging and rewarding, requiring quick thinking and decisive action in high-pressure situations. Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient symptoms, medical histories, and vital signs promptly and accurately.
• Provide emergency first aid and treatment in urgent situations, adhering to medical protocols.
• Collaborate with doctors and emergency medical team members to ensure optimal patient care.
• Administer medications, injections, and intravenous therapy as required by medical directives.
• Monitor and continually assess the condition of patients, providing updates to the medical team.
• Prepare and maintain all necessary supplies, equipment, and documentation at the emergency bedside.
• Educate patients and their families on the diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care instructions.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and infection control procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Participate in ongoing staff education and training programs to enhance skills and competencies.
• Manage stress effectively in a fast-paced and often intense work environment.
• Assist in triage to prioritize treatment based on injury, diagnosis, and severity of condition.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency protocol improvements.

Requirements

• Valid nursing license .
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Previous experience working in an emergency room or similar high-pressure environment.
• Strong understanding of emergency medical procedures and life support techniques.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations effectively.
• Physical stamina to withstand long hours and manage emergency situations calmly.
• Availability to work in rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
