Quality Inspector (225-616)

The role of a Quality Inspector is integral to ensuring that products meet the required standards and specifications before they reach the customer. Quality Inspectors are responsible for examining materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. They identify defects or deviations from specifications and recommend necessary changes to production processes. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a comprehensive understanding of quality control methodologies, and an ability to work well under pressure. Quality Inspectors work closely with production teams, engineers, and managers to maintain the high standards of quality that customers expect. They must be knowledgeable about the products they are inspecting and the tools they need to use, be skilled at problem-solving, and possess strong communication skills to report findings and coordinate with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products at various stages of the production process for conformity with specifications.
• Conduct tests and analyze measurements to ensure product quality standards are met.
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-works and wastes.
• Recommend necessary adjustments and changes to improve the quality of products and processes.
• Collaborate with production staff to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and ensuring their accuracy and function.
• Train and supervise new staff in the inspection and testing procedures.
• Monitor production operations to maintain a continuous flow of high-quality products.
• Ensure that workflow processes adhere strictly to health and safety regulations.
• Investigate and report on quality complaints from customers after receiving feedback.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and workshops.
• Keep the workspace clean and organized to prevent mix-ups or contamination.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Quality Inspector, or similar quality assurance role.
• Understanding of quality control and testing methods and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for identifying defects.
• Excellent communication skills to report findings and improvements clearly.
• Ability to interpret technical documents, such as blueprints and operating manuals.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and standards for quality assurance.
• Proficiency in using measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
