Job Description

As an IT Support Assistant, you will be an integral part of our technology team, providing essential support to ensure efficient operation of computer systems, software applications, and IT hardware across the organization. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technology-related issues, assisting in the installation and configuration of hardware and software, and ensuring that all systems operate smoothly to meet the business needs. Your role is crucial in maintaining the communication between users and the IT department, helping to mitigate any potential disruptions caused by technological issues. Additionally, you will partake in documenting processes, managing IT assets, and providing training to users on new technologies. This position demands a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-oriented approach.


Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support for computer hardware and software-related issues to users.
  • Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Monitor and maintain IT systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Respond to IT support requests promptly and document solutions in the help desk system.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and upgrade existing ones.
  • Conduct hardware and software inventory management and maintain accurate records.
  • Create and update user guides and technical documentation for IT procedures.
  • Assist with network connectivity troubleshooting and basic troubleshooting of networking equipment.
  • Train and support users on basic IT processes and new software or hardware installations.
  • Conduct IT equipment audits to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Ensure that IT security and data protection measures are followed by all users.
  • Provide support in off-site or remote offices when necessary, ensuring continuity of service.

Requirements

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, is preferred.
  • Proven experience in an IT support role with a solid technical background.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, hardware, and software.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with a knack for clear and concise explanations.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems and software applications.
  • Capacity to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a commitment to providing quality support services.
  • Experience with remote desktop applications and help desk software is a plus.
