We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of robust, user-friendly solutions that simplify the deployment, scaling, and maintenance of CockroachDB clusters. This role focuses on building both Kubernetes-native and non-Kubernetes tooling, ensuring seamless integration across major cloud providers, hybrid environments, and self-hosted data centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and prioritize the roadmap for cluster management tools based on customer needs, business objectives, and market trends.
• Lead strategy and UX for CockroachDBs cluster management tools (Kubernetes-native like Helm chart & operator, and non-Kubernetes solutions).
• Collaborate with fleet management and cloud admin teams to deliver a cohesive deployment experience.
• Develop best practices and work with documentation/training teams to create educational resources.
• Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to validate requirements and iterate solutions.
• Partner with marketing and sales to articulate the value of CockroachDB’s cluster management capabilities.
  
  

• Undergo PM onboarding with a Roachmate mentor.
• Deploy CockroachDB clusters using various tools to gain hands-on experience.
• Review the product backlog and identify key customer challenges.
  
  

• Be fully embedded within the team and lead customer engagements.
• Prioritize solutions that drive seamless, scalable CockroachDB integration.
• Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with Sales and meet key DevOps/SRE customers.
  
  

• CS degree or equivalent background in software/solutions engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure.
• 6+ years of total experience, with 4+ years as a Product Manager for infrastructure/SaaS/enterprise products.
• Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Demonstrated success working with distributed cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
• Experience interfacing with medium to large enterprise customers.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional departments (Engineering, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Finance).
  
  

• Experience with stateful distributed systems or database technologies.
