ROLE PROFILE:

We are seeking a Senior People Data Scientist to join the People Data & Insights team at LSEG. This strategic role will lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced analytics solutions that drive data-informed decision-making across the People function. You will partner with senior stakeholders across the business to shape and execute advanced analytics, forwarding thinking Organisational Research supporting business outcomes, and applying cutting-edge methodologies to solve complex workforce challenges. This role requires deep expertise in statistical modelling, machine learning, research methods, I/O psychology, data engineering, and business storytelling.

As a senior member of the People Data & Insights team at LSEG, you will be instrumental in delivering high-impact insights that inform people strategy and measure progress against key outcomes. You will lead initiatives that contribute to organisational growth, operational efficiency, and financial performance through robust data governance, predictive analytics, and strategic reporting.

ABOUT THE TEAM:

You’ll be part of the People Data & Insights team – a strategic, globally connected function that delivers personalised, data-driven insights to inform people strategy, enhance workforce capabilities, and support business performance. We combine people research, analytics, and technology to enable decision-making at scale, with a growing focus on AI-enabled solutions.

Our work spans cloud-based master data for real-time analytics, scalable dashboards embedded in the flow of work, listening at scale to understand colleague sentiment, and advanced analytics that guide programme and workforce decisions – all underpinned by a strong commitment to ethics, privacy, and responsible AI. WHAT YOULL BE DOING:

  • Translate People related strategic queries into analytical questions and design solutions that can help address those business-critical questions.
  • Design and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to uncover trends, predict outcomes, and optimise workforce decisions.
  • Deliver compelling data visualisations and narratives that influence senior leadership and drive action.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with People Function, Finance, Engineering, and business units to align analytics initiatives with organisational priorities.
  • Ensure data integrity and governance across all analytics outputs, proactively identifying and resolving data quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain scalable pipelines using Python, R, SQL and cloud based tools (e.g. Azure, Snowflake etc)
  • Stay current with latest research and analytical methods, models and packages and experiment with their use in solution implementation.
  • Collaborate with other data scientists and AI colleagues across LSEG to bring best practices into the People Function.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the team’s methodological rigour and innovation.
  • Champion the use of analytics across People Function, building capability and fostering a data-driven culture.

WHAT YOULL BRING:

  • Proven experience in a senior analytics or data science role, ideally within HR.
  • Expertise in data science tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Alteryx).
  • Strong proficiency in data visualisation platforms (e.g., Power BI) and storytelling for executive audiences.
  • Advanced statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, classification, time series forecasting, supervised and unsupervised learning).
  • Hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and tools, such as text classification, sentiment analysis, topic modelling, or named entity recognition, particularly applied to employee feedback, surveys, or HR documents.
  • Experience with cloud-based data environments and modern data architecture (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.
  • Agile approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deliver at pace.
  • Deep domain knowledge in HR analytics, including recruitment, workforce planning, talent development, and employee experience.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with a commitment to inclusive analytics practices.
