Your opportunity
As our Senior Manager overseeing the global Accounts Payable team, you’ll be a key member of the leadership team responsible for leading, developing, and driving the global AP team’s activities. You’ll help develop and strengthen collaborative relationships with colleagues in all functions. You’ll also be a key team member helping to identify and drive process improvement and digital transformation opportunities in the entire Procure to Pay management cycle. You’ll help to oversee supplier relationships and build vendor trust.
The ability to ensure proper AP and accrual accounting treatments and maintaining effective internal controls is critical to this role. You’ll be a key contributor towards the company’s cash flow management and ensure key metrics like DPO (days payable outstanding) are in line with our business plans.
What Youll Do
- Oversight of the global AP teams that are handling full-cycle AP, including general ledger support
- Ensure invoices are accurately coded, approved, posted and processed within established deadlines
- Lead the team in evaluating opportunities to automate process flows and bring in efficiencies and reduce risk of errors
- Direct the team towards strategic objectives, identifying business opportunities, and ensuring proactive communication with management.
- Manage financial close-related activities, including accruals, T&E schedules, and reconciliations.
- Review team tasks, identify delays, and provide solutions for timely completion.
- Respond and interact with internal customers and vendors/suppliers in a manner that maintains good working relationships
- Review exception reports, accounts payable aging reports, and other month-end reports to evaluate the process and escalate concerns to management as needed
- Review and approve month end reconciliations for all AP accruals related accounts
- Assists, obtains and provides financial information and support needed for internal and external audits
- Provide customer satisfaction to the Executives, Finance team, other departments, and external parties
- Support general accounting functions, including accruals and other period-end close work such as prepare journal entries, reconcile account balances and review aging reports
This role requires
- You’ll have 10+ years of experience in managing AP teams
- Solid understanding of accounting systems, and how to extract, organize and analyze data
- Previous experience using Expensify, Concur, Coupa, Navan, Workday, NetSuite or similar software
- Excellent customer service approach
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizing and prioritizing skills
Bonus points if you have
- Experience in working in AP teams in large organizations in the SAAS space
- Experience in working in managing deliverables across time zones
