Senior BIM Technician - Substation

REVIT, Bim, AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Create detailed engineering drawings for Extra High Voltage (Extra High Voltage) projects, covering both Air Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substations (GIS), ranging from 11kV up to 400kV Engineering design is desirable.
• Preparation and development of EC&I deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, loop drawings, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, cable containment design and switchgear configurations using both 2D and 3D software packages
• Develop darwings to support detailed engineering, such as Land Utilisation Plan, Elevations, Above and Below Grade Conduit layouts, Grounding layout & it’s connection details, Lighting and Lightning protection with respective details, Bill of Materials, CDM, MEWP layouts.
• Prepare 3D Revit coordinated models
• Setting up BIM models to the project standards and liaising with Model Managers from client / UK side.
• Implement best practices on process Improvement works.
• Adopt new technology and implementing in the team and process.
• Create work sets, work-sharing methodologies in Revit Models.
• Flag resource concerns in advance to CAD/BIM manager.
• Project delivery responsibility on agreed schedules.
• Agree priorities and deadlines for drawing/model production with CAD/BIM Manager.
• Input to the co-ordination of engineering services on projects.
• Develop general arrangement drawings from engineers sketches and other design team member drawings.
• Produce work to specified WSP in India CAD standards, suggest revisions to standards as appropriate.
• Use templates for CAD/BIM work and use CAD/BIM library items to assist design work
• Provide advice and coaching to junior CAD/BIM staff on CAD functions when requested
• Follow QA, document control, archiving & CDM guidelines on all work
• Work with project team members on specified aspects of the project
• Familiarity with 3D tools (Revit) for Engineering design is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
