The Role:

QS is supporting the Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) seeking a dynamic and highly motivated regional student recruitment talent to help the university in driving international student recruitment initiatives in South Asia region. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in recruiting and advising prospective students from South Asia region for both undergraduate and graduate programs.


Role responsibilities:



  • Serve as the GCU representative for international student enrolment in the region, with awareness of opportunities and potential challenges/threats within the region
  • Establish a network of relationships to effectively support and maximize regional recruitment to meet GCU international student enrolment goals
  • Increase leads and international student applications through the development of proactive recruitment activities and engagement, including and not limited to information sessions, webinars.
  • Responsible for meeting application and enrollment goals
  • Effectively manage all event logistics, communications, and support partners / vendors relationships, in collaboration with GCU team
  • Ensure that all regional recruitment activities are aligned with best practices in enrolment management and recruitment of QS & GCU
  • Regular communication with GCU team to ensure activities are aligned with institutional and enrolment goals
  • Report regularly on outcomes of all activities related to the role and responsibilities, including relevant metrics and accurate data
  • The candidate may perform other related duties as assigned.
  • The position is preferable to be based in Bangalore or Mumbai, India and requires significant travel throughout the country, typically up to 40%, with flexibility as needed and to occasionally support virtual events outside of standard working hours. There will be requirements to travel to other neighboring countries within the region occasionally, depending on the university needs and market movement.


The candidate will engage in the following job relevant responsibilities including:

  • Recruitment: representing the university at recruitment events (fairs, school visits, webinars, open days and counsellor events), communicating with prospective students, providing academic program information
  • Partner Management: build visibility and trust with authorized in-region recruitment partners, delivering training and brand education to enable partners to recruit international students to GCU, while ensuring the quality and credibility of application is met.
  • Partner Development: Identify and cultivate strong relationships with international schools, local universities, and other feeder institutions.
  • Application support: providing information to prospective students on the application process, including application deadlines, application requirements, procedures for submission etc.
  • Alumni engagement: hosting alumni events to engage alumni
  • Data collection: the candidate will be expected to document all leads and related activities in a consistent manner as required

KPIs

  • Reports demonstrating regular, timely and consistent outreach and communication with prospective students, as well as activities and events
  • Achieve application & enrollment goals set for assigned program


Key skills and experience:


Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to a first-degree level or equivalent professional experience, particularly in the higher education sector.
  • Strong proficiency in English, with advanced communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Willingness and ability to travel across India and internationally as required.
  • Skilled in preparing and delivering professional presentations and reports in English.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to manage independent travel and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities to navigate complex situations independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills to produce clear, accurate reports and strategic documents.
  • Comfortable working with numerical data, including managing budgets and interpreting statistical information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of international student recruitment and engagement practices.
  • Familiarity with working alongside educational agencies in India and the South Asia region.
  • Experience supporting or delivering programmes for international students or within higher education settings.
  • Ability to represent and promote a diverse portfolio of education offerings.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and student support.
  • Proven ability (or strong potential) to contribute to and achieve enrolment or recruitment goals.


Highly Desirable Criteria

  • Postgraduate or international higher education study experience
  • Experience working with domestic universities, secondary schools, English language schools and other preparatory entities.
  • Ability to speak the local language
  • Experience collaborating interdepartmentally and/or externally.
  • Experience of effectively using CRM and data management tools, virtual engagement platforms, and productivity tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office.
  • Experience liaising with a geographically and culturally diverse team.
  • An awareness of issues in marketing educational services in an international context.
  • Sensitive to intellectual property and data protection
