Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Vulnerability Management Engineer I to join our cybersecurity team. In this entry-level role, you will support the identification, assessment, and remediation of security vulnerabilities across our systems, networks, and applications. This position is ideal for candidates with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and a strong desire to grow in the field of vulnerability management.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the scanning and monitoring of infrastructure, systems, and applications for vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, etc.).
  • Support the analysis and triaging of vulnerabilities, helping prioritize remediation based on risk, business impact, and exploitability.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and IT teams to coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts.
  • Document findings, track resolution progress, and maintain accurate vulnerability records.
  • Assist in developing and updating metrics and reports related to the vulnerability management program.
  • Help ensure compliance with internal security policies and industry frameworks (e.g., CIS, NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and security fundamentals.
  • Exposure to or interest in vulnerability scanning tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in the cybersecurity domain.
