As part of our experienced HPC team, you will work on improving system uptime, optimizing performance, and automating deployments while receiving mentorship and training from industry professionals.
Job Description
In your new role you will:
HPC System Operations and Maintenance
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining operational uptime of HPC clusters and systems.
- Learn to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in compute nodes, storage, and interconnects.
Automation and Scripting
- Support efforts to automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages like Python or Bash.
- Collaborate with the team on developing tools to streamline HPC system administration.
Monitoring and Incident Management
- Help set up and optimize monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Participate in incident response processes, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with senior engineers to support HPC users in running and troubleshooting workloads.
- Document processes, runbooks, and solutions to assist other team members and HPC users.
Learning and Development
- Participate in on-the-job training and educational programs to understand HPC environments and tools.
- Stay updated on trends in HPC, cloud integration, and site reliability engineering
Your Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Recent graduates and final-year students are encouraged to apply.
- A basic understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS,Ubuntu).
- Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language suchas Python, Bash, or C++.
- Knowledge of fundamentals in networking (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS) and system administration.
- Enthusiasm for High Performance Computing, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a team and follow guidance from senior team members.
- Knowledge of parallel computing concepts or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with workload schedulers LSF.
- Exposure to containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Hands-on experience with coding projects or internships related to system administration or HPC.
- Interest in automating tasks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
