Job Description

As a Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in the retail sector, acting as the bridge between buyers and the sales floor. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the shelves of a retail store are stocked with the right products in the right quantities. Your strategic planning and organizational skills will drive product availability and the store's visual aesthetic, both of which are vital for maximizing sales and enhancing the customer shopping experience. You will work closely with suppliers, retail teams, and marketing departments to forecast trends, assess market competition, and create attractive product displays that boost company sales. This dynamic role requires you to be analytical, customer-focused, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze sales trends to forecast future stock requirements and order products accordingly.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and negotiate to achieve favorable prices and terms.
  • Plan and execute product displays and seasonal promotions within the store.
  • Coordinate with store teams to ensure timely replenishment and stock rotation.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Review and analyze sales performance using data analytics tools and techniques.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers for reliable procurement processes.
  • Ensure merchandise presentation is visually appealing and meets brand standards.
  • Stay informed with industry trends to introduce innovative merchandising strategies.
  • Conduct regular store visits to observe and ensure merchandising consistency.
  • Train retail staff on the latest merchandising techniques and product knowledge.
  • Assist in developing and adjusting inventory tracking tools for accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in merchandising or a similar role within the retail industry.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess sales data and market trends effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to establish beneficial vendor agreements.
  • Creative flair for designing eye-catching product displays and assortments.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders successfully.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
