We are looking for a Assistant Manager - Technical Purchase - SCM to join our Group at Endress Hauser Flow Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar

What is the role about?

This job posting is for a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer with a strong procurement background focused on machine building and its related parts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supplier selection, development, and management, along with proficiency in SAP MM and strong communication skills. They should also be adept at cost analysis, value engineering, and understanding engineering drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Roles & Responsibilities
• Responsible for sourcing markets surveillance and scouting for process plant construction
• Lead suppliers RFQ, offer analysis, negotiations, and selection.
• Responsible for on-time deliveries at the right quality
• Accountable for suppliers’ contract and claim management
• Responsible for supplier relationship management and supplier development
• Contribute actively to business process optimization with the engineering team in located in India and Switzerland.
• Supplier Management:
  
  

Selecting and developing suppliers for machine building and its components, including machining, fabrication, castings, and electrical/electronic parts.

• SAP Proficiency:
  
  

Maintaining material masters, info records, and vendor masters within the SAP MM module.

• Procurement Process:
  
  

Handling RFQs (Request for Quotations), comparing bids, negotiating prices, and releasing purchase orders.

• Supply Chain Management:
  
  

Ensuring timely deliveries and managing payment cycles with suppliers.

• Vendor Records:
  
  

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date vendor records.

• Commodity Focus:
• Pipe manufacturing, welding, machining, fabrication, forging, press parts, plates
• Electrical panels manufacturing, Electrical and electronic components
• Catalogue items like pumps, tools, valves, hydraulic and pneumatic
• Surface Treatment works, blasting, painting
• Cost and Value Engineering:
  
  

Analysing costs and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and value improvement.

• Drawing Interpretation:
  
  

Understanding engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

• Teamwork and Initiative:
  
  

Working independently and as part of a team, demonstrating self-motivation.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 12 to 15 years of experience in engineering purchases.
• Travel: Willingness to travel within India and internationally.
• Industry Experience: Experience working in an engineering company or with project equipment.
• Skills: Proficiency in SAP MM module, MS applications, and knowledge of engineering materials.
• Familiar with ERP, preferably SAP to maintain purchasing data such as vendor records
• Communication: Communication skills necessary to interact in an international context
• Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading a team.
• Self-motivated and can work on own initiative and as part of a cross-functional team
  
  

Must To Have

• Knowledge of grades of engineering materials, codes and standards
• Worked as team leader in cross functional teams
• Supplier Audit experience
• Supplier development experience
  
  

Good To Have

• Diploma/Graduate/MBA in Materials Management,
• Basic German language knowledge,
• Integrated Management System Auditor certification
• Experience using the Jaggaer supplier platform.
