Job Description

The role of a Store Keeper is crucial in ensuring that all goods, materials, and products move within a company's supply chain accurately and efficiently. As a key figure in the warehouse or storage facility, the Store Keeper maintains an organized system for stocking and retrieving inventory items and plays a vital role in supporting both the production and sales departments by ensuring that there is always an adequate supply of items. The position requires attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and a solid understanding of inventory management practices. The store keeper will also be responsible for managing deliveries, coordinating with vendors, and compiling accurate inventory records. If you are proactive and have a passion for maintaining an efficient workflow in an inventory setting, this role may be an excellent fit.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize the store inventory to mitigate misplacement and loss.
  • Receive goods and verify their quantity and quality against purchase orders.
  • Update inventory records and document all material and supply transactions.
  • Ensure all equipment is safely stored and warehouse premises are secure.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing department regarding ordering materials and supplies.
  • Track inventory levels and notify procurement when supplies are running low.
  • Organize and lead periodic physical inventory audits and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate inventory reports for management review timely.
  • Stock shelves and maintain proper labeling and sorting for easy retrieval.
  • Implement inventory management best practices to improve store operations.
  • Coordinate and optimize the logistics of materials' entry and exit in the store.
  • Handle and resolve discrepancies with shipping and receiving departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education in logistics or related field.
  • Prior experience in inventory role or related warehousing positions preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with an attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and physically manage large amounts of inventory.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities are required.
  • Relevant certification in supply chain management would be beneficial but not mandatory.
