Job Description

The Hotel Receptionist serves as an integral part of the hospitality team, acting as the face of the hotel and ensuring guests have a warm and welcoming experience from the moment they step through the doors. Tasked with managing the front desk, the Hotel Receptionist is responsible for handling reservations, answering guests’ questions, and providing outstanding customer service. They play a pivotal role in setting the tone for a guest’s stay, making first impressions matter. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential as they liaise with various departments to meet guests’ needs. This role provides an excellent opportunity to grow within the hospitality industry while engaging with diverse clientele daily.


Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and provide assistance with check-in/check-out processes.
  • Answer phone calls and manage reservations efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage guest payments, invoices, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries and resolve their complaints effectively.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to track room status and updates promptly.
  • Provide local area information and recommendations for guest activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk environment consistently.
  • Utilize hotel software to update guest information and bookings.
  • Collaborate with the concierge for arranging transportation and special requests.
  • Monitor hotel lobby to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  • Promote additional hotel services and amenities to enhance guest experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management software is essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking abilities effectively.
  • Capable of working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus to better serve a diverse clientele.
