AutoCAD Designer - Wooden Furniture (225-813)

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive CAD designs for wooden furniture pieces with precision and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure feasibility of designs and prototypes.

• Create both 2D layouts and complex 3D models for diverse furniture projects.
• Utilize CAD software to create custom furniture designs, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Stay updated on industry trends and integrate innovative techniques into your design process.
• Revise and refine designs based on feedback from team members and clients.
• Generate detailed materials lists and specifications for each design project.
• Ensure that all designs comply with company standards and safety regulations.
• Provide support and guidance to junior designers and apprentices in the team.
• Coordinate with external vendors to source materials and evaluate new design solutions.
• Participate in weekly design meetings to brainstorm new ideas and approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience as an AutoCAD Designer, specifically in wooden furniture design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD software as well as 3D modeling tools like SketchUp or Rhino.
• Demonstrated understanding of wood materials and their application in furniture making.
• Strong creative and visualization skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills tailored for interacting with clients and team members.
