Job Description

An Assembly & Test Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing and quality control process of a company’s products. This position involves the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electronic components. The technician must ensure that all parts and products meet the required specifications and quality standards before they are released. Working closely with engineers and product designers, the technician helps in refining the products by providing insights and feedback from the assembly line. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in reading and understanding technical schematics and manuals. Moreover, they must be able to adhere to safety standards and conduct all tasks efficiently to meet production schedules.


Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electronic components according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Conduct tests on assembled components to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with components and assemblies during testing.
  • Document test results and maintain accurate records for quality assurance purposes.
  • Collaborate with engineers to modify designs and improve assembly processes.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed during assembly and testing operations.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition to ensure high quality outcomes.
  • Identify defects and suggest improvements in assembly techniques and materials.
  • Prepare reports on assembly and test performance for review by senior staff.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians and new team members.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
  • Assist in inventory management by reporting shortages or issues with supply parts.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in assembly and testing environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with experience in problem-solving techniques.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in assembly and testing processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high standards of workmanship are essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight production deadlines.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team and management.
  • Comfortable using computer software for reporting and managing test data.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to varying workloads as required.
