Job Description

A Junior Merchandiser plays a crucial role in the retail industry by supporting the merchandising team to maximize commercial performance in terms of sales, profitability, and market share. This role is ideal for entry-level professionals who have a keen eye for detail, a head for numbers, and a passion for understanding market trends and consumer behaviors. Working closely with Buyers, Planners, and other merchandising professionals, the Junior Merchandiser helps to ensure that the right products are available at the right time across various channels. Effective communication and analytical skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and execution of merchandising strategies for various product lines.
  • Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to forecast industry trends and pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and inventory management teams to optimize stock levels.
  • Support the preparation and distribution of merchandising reports and presentations.
  • Monitor sales figures and analyze performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to implement promotional activities and campaigns.
  • Participate in the selection and purchase of merchandise for upcoming seasons or collections.
  • Maintain accurate product and pricing information within merchandising systems and databases.
  • Work with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of merchandise to retail locations.
  • Contribute to meetings and discussions regarding sales goals and merchandising strategies.
  • Handle administrative tasks and support daily operations of the merchandising department.
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to facilitate negotiations and order placements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Previous experience in merchandising, retail, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with team members and vendors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Keen attention to detail and high degree of organizational skills required.
