Job Description

The role of an Accounts Payable Officer is critical in ensuring the financial integrity and operational success of an organization by managing company liabilities and performing crucial accounting duties. This position involves processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely payments to suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with them. The Accounts Payable Officer meticulously verifies and records financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and transparency, and adhering to internal and external regulatory requirements. Responsibilities

  • Process and manage payments and invoices received by the company efficiently.
  • Ensure all payments are approved and in compliance with the financial policies.
  • Maintain the integrity of accounts payable balances and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Reconcile transactions, statements, and accounts as needed for financial accuracy.
  • Maintain organized and updated financial records for easy retrieval and analysis.
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to verify deliveries and invoices.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries and issues.
  • Generate regular reports on accounts payable status and highlight outstanding issues.
  • Facilitate the smooth month-end closing process for accounts payable activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Assist in year-end audits and provide necessary documents and information.
  • Stay updated on financial regulations and auditing practices to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in an accounts payable role within a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial recording processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and acute attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to handle payment issues effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with vendors and team members.
