Job Description

As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. You will be the warm and welcoming face that greets our patients and visitors, creating a positive first impression. Your role is vital in coordinating patient flow and handling essential administrative tasks, making certain that every interaction is met with professionalism and efficiency. You will manage appointments, answer inquiries, facilitate communication between patients and medical staff, and perform various tasks to support the daily operations of the clinic or hospital. Your organizational skills, attention to detail, and understanding of healthcare protocols will contribute to maintaining a high standard of patient care and satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly and direct them to appropriate services.
  • Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations.
  • Answer phone calls and address inquiries professionally and accurately.
  • Assist patients with check-in and check-out processes efficiently and courteously.
  • Maintain and update patient records with confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare professionals effectively.
  • Handle billing and insurance inquiries, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Ensure the waiting and reception areas are clean, safe, and welcoming.
  • Verify patient identification and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry and filing as required.
  • Provide general support to the healthcare team to ensure effective operations.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent issues with appropriate measures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education level is required.
  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic medical records.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare protocols preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
