Job Description

The IT Services Category Manager plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the sourcing and procurement of IT services for an organization. This position involves developing strategic sourcing plans, negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that the organization receives the best value for its IT services spend. The IT Services Category Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and operations, to understand business needs, define service-level requirements, and align procurement strategies accordingly. This role requires a keen understanding of the IT services market, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. The successful candidate will bring a strategic approach to vendor management, ensuring innovation, quality, and cost-efficiency in the delivery of IT services to the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for IT services procurement.
  • Evaluate and manage supplier performance to ensure service quality and compliance.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts with IT services providers to achieve optimal terms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize procurement needs.
  • Monitor market trends to identify new opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of IT service procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of supplier contracts to ensure continued value delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key IT service suppliers.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions in IT service delivery.
  • Analyze spend data and prepare reports to inform procurement strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on procurement policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT procurement or category management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with proven experience in vendor contract management.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of IT services market trends and procurement best practices.
  • Proficiency in using procurement and project management software tools.
  • Ability to develop strategic procurement plans aligned with business goals.
