Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems and related products.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of database systems and applications.
• Design and implement effective database backup and recovery plans and procedures.
• Develop and maintain database security policies and procedures to protect data.
• Perform regular data quality audits and address data integrity issues promptly.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and maintain database schema.
• Analyze database resource consumption and recommend enhancements for performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
• Develop and document database management processes and maintenance procedures.
• Implement and manage database replication and clustering setups as needed.
• Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users as necessary.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in database management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator in a similar role required.
• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, and principles essential.
• Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Experience with database backup and recovery tools and methodologies necessary.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate team collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with data modeling and database design preferred for this role.
