Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counsellor/Psychotherapist to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will provide psychological support and therapeutic interventions to individuals facing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. This role is pivotal in helping clients to develop coping strategies, improve their mental well-being, and navigate life's challenges effectively. You will work collaboratively with individuals, helping them to articulate their issues and supporting them through their personal therapeutic journeys. Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial assessments to understand the client's current mental health state.
  • Develop tailored therapeutic plans based on individual client needs and circumstances.
  • Utilize various therapeutic techniques to support client progress and healing.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate client records, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
  • Provide ongoing support through individual or group therapy sessions as needed.
  • Evaluate clients’ progress and adjust therapeutic approaches as necessary for improvement.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals for holistic treatment plans when necessary.
  • Offer crisis intervention and emergency support to clients during critical periods.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and developments in psychotherapy and counselling.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards in all counselling relationships.
  • Promote mental health awareness within the organization and to the public when required.
  • Ensure a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Licensed or certified to practice as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist.
  • Proficient in evidence-based therapeutic methods and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients.
  • Strong ethical understanding and commitment to client confidentiality and privacy.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships and empathize with diverse client needs.
  • Must have at least two years of professional counselling experience.
