Job Description

An Assembly & Test Technician is a skilled professional responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electronic and mechanical components in a variety of settings. This role requires a keen eye for detail, precision, and a thorough understanding of complex systems. Working in industries such as aerospace, automotive, or electronics manufacturing, Assembly & Test Technicians ensure that products meet quality and performance standards before they reach the market. They work closely with design and engineering teams to execute and refine assembly processes, and may also be involved in the development of testing protocols. This position requires not only technical skills but also the ability to read blueprints and schematics, manage inventory, and use specialized machinery and software relevant to the assembly and testing processes. Ensuring high-quality output and adherence to safety standards are critical components of this role, making it essential for the technician to stay up-to-date with the latest industry advancements and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electronic components according to engineering specifications and schematics.
  • Conduct tests on assembled products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in assembly and testing processes effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and design teams to improve assembly procedures.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure precise measurements and outputs.
  • Document test results and assembly processes for performance reviews and audits.
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Update and maintain inventory records of components and finished products.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and training to new and existing team members.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding progress and issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in assembly and testing roles.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and electronic testing equipment is required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
