Job Description

A Storekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring effective operations within a store or warehouse environment. This person is responsible for maintaining inventory, replenishing stock, and ensuring that the storage area is organized and operates efficiently. Given the importance of accurate inventory management, the Storekeeper must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills. This role requires collaboration with various departments, including procurement, sales, and logistics, to ensure the timely and efficient movement of goods. Moreover, safety is a top priority, and the Storekeeper must adhere to all safety and procedural guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. As a key member of the store operations team, the Storekeeper contributes significantly to the store's success by providing unparalleled support in inventory management.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments against purchase orders and invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and manage stock replenishment.
  • Organize and ensure the storage area is clean, safe, and accessible.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for seamless stock management.
  • Perform regular stock audits to maintain inventory accuracy and quality checks.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to update and monitor stock data effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines in the storage area.
  • Label and arrange inventory to facilitate easy location and identification.
  • Assist in the preparation and packaging of outgoing orders efficiently.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages in shipments to management promptly.
  • Collaborate with sales and production teams to forecast inventory needs and trends.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required for consideration.
  • Prior experience in a storekeeping, warehouse, or inventory management role.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills needed.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Understanding of safety regulations and practices in warehouse settings.
