Job Description

As a healthcare receptionist, you will be at the frontline of patient interaction, playing a pivotal role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment in a healthcare setting. This position requires a combination of strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping others. You will be responsible for managing the flow of patients, handling sensitive information with confidentiality, scheduling appointments, and performing other administrative duties to support the healthcare team. Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients promptly upon their arrival at the facility.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and properly direct inquiries and messages.
  • Manage and update patient records while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Schedule appointments and manage calendar for healthcare professionals.
  • Provide patients with necessary forms and ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify patient insurance information and handle billing inquiries.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area to enhance patient comfort.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and care delivery.
  • Assist patients with inquiries and provide information about services offered.
  • Handle emergency calls and situations calmly and efficiently with proper procedures.
  • Update and maintain internal databases with accurate patient and appointment information.
  • Participate in training activities to enhance skills and adapt to new protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a relevant customer service role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear patient interaction.
  • Proficiency in using office equipment and healthcare management software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Friendly and compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient satisfaction.
