The IT Services Category Manager is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for the strategic management and procurement of IT services. The individual in this position will lead efforts to optimize our IT service supply chain, ensuring cost efficiency, service quality, and supplier performance. The role requires a deep understanding of market trends, supplier capabilities, and an analytical approach to manage negotiations and contract renewals. The IT Services Category Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT services with business objectives and drive initiatives that enhance productivity and innovation. This position demands exceptional negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex vendor relationships effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive IT services category management strategies for the organization.
  • Analyze market trends to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their business viability.
  • Negotiate contracts with IT service providers to secure the best terms and relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their IT service requirements and expectations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance to contractual obligations and service-level agreements.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining high service quality and performance standards.
  • Maintain strong, beneficial relationships with key IT service providers and stakeholders.
  • Lead vendor assessment and selection processes to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Create and maintain detailed reports on IT services expenditure and savings opportunities.
  • Ensure alignment of IT services procurement with overall business strategies and objectives.
  • Work closely with the legal team to manage contract renewals and amendments effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry innovations and changes in market dynamics impacting IT services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT category management or procurement roles.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence and drive supplier agreements.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing vendor relationships and service agreements.
  • Excellent analytical skills to assess business needs and supplier performance effectively.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives for IT services.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with technology trends and how they impact business processes and procurement.
