Job Description

The Automotive Spare Parts Store Keeper plays a crucial role in maintaining and managing the inventory of spare parts in an automotive service shop or dealership. This position requires an organized and detail-oriented individual who can ensure that the store's operations run smoothly, and that all spare parts are readily available to mechanics and technicians whenever they are needed. The Store Keeper is responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching automotive spare parts, as well as maintaining accurate records of inventory levels. Additionally, the role requires exceptional problem-solving skills to address any discrepancies in stock and a strong understanding of automotive components. Effective communication skills are essential, as the Store Keeper must liaise with suppliers, mechanics, and management to keep the supply chain running efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming automotive spare parts and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records through regular audits and checks.
  • Organize and categorize spare parts to ensure fast and efficient retrieval.
  • Assist mechanics and technicians in locating and providing required spare parts promptly.
  • Coordinate the disposal of obsolete or damaged parts according to company policies.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder parts to prevent inventory shortages.
  • Develop and implement systems for tracking and managing spare parts efficiently.
  • Communicate with suppliers to resolve any issues related to order discrepancies.
  • Ensure that all parts are stored safely and in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports to management on a regular basis.
  • Facilitate the return of defective or excess parts to suppliers or manufacturers.
  • Support the logistical arrangements for receiving and sending automotive parts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in inventory management is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in an automotive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts and their applications.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in inventory management.
  • Proficient in using computerized inventory management systems and software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required in the role.
