X-Ray Technician (225-822)

As an X-Ray Technician, you will be a crucial part of the medical imaging team, responsible for operating X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images under the supervision of a radiologist. Your role will involve preparing patients for imaging procedures, performing the actual imaging, and ensuring that all images meet the required standards for accurate diagnosis and treatment. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-focused care in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and specialized imaging centers. Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for X-ray procedures by explaining the process clearly to them.
• Correctly position patients to capture the necessary images as directed by physicians.
• Operate the X-ray equipment in compliance with established safety guidelines and protocols.
• Review and evaluate the quality of the images before sending them for examination.
• Maintain a sterile environment to ensure patient safety during imaging procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update imaging logs promptly and accurately.
• Work closely with radiologists to determine if additional images are required for clarity.
• Regularly check and calibrate X-ray machinery to ensure proper function and safety.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations concerning radiation protection measures.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining the necessary documentation for medical records.
• Ensure proper inventory levels by monitoring and ordering supplies and materials.
• Conduct routine quality assurance checks to maintain equipment reliability and performance.

Requirements

• An associate’s degree or certification from an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Valid license to practice as an X-Ray Technician.
• Proven experience working as a radiologic technologist in a healthcare setting.
• Strong understanding of imaging techniques and patient positioning procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team members.
• Ability to convey complex technical information to patients in a simple manner.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills for image analysis and troubleshooting.
• Commitment to ongoing education to stay current with advances in radiologic technology.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist in patient positioning.
