Job Description

As a Receptionist in the healthcare sector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a healthcare facility. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the front desk area with efficiency and professionalism. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, and your demeanor will leave a lasting impression. In addition to handling administrative tasks, you will be entrusted with maintaining patient confidentiality and assisting with inquiries. Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments accurately and maintain updated records in the system.
  • Ensure all patient information is entered correctly and confidentially.
  • Assist patients with completing necessary pre-appointment forms and documentation.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to streamline patient flow and minimize wait times.
  • Provide basic information and direct inquiries to appropriate healthcare personnel.
  • Maintain a neat and organized reception area to promote a welcoming environment.
  • Handle administrative duties such as copying, faxing, and mailing documents.
  • Assist in coordinating and confirming patient follow-up appointments.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital regulations and standards of practice.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail for the healthcare facility efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in office management is advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with office software such as MS Office and healthcare management systems.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in task completion.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and responsibly.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
