Job Description

An Instrumentation and Control Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and safety of technical systems within industrial and manufacturing environments. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of instrumentation and control systems, which are vital for the seamless operation of industrial processes. The inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining a wide range of instrumentation equipment and controls that regulate temperature, pressure, flow, and other variables of industrial processes. Additional tasks include verifying compliance with industry standards, reporting discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions. This position is integral to ensuring that all equipment meets regulatory requirements and safety standards, thereby minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, and maintain instrumentation and control equipment regularly.
  • Verify that all instrumentation complies with industry standards and regulations.
  • Document inspection procedures and findings in a comprehensive manner.
  • Recommend and oversee corrective maintenance activities to restore equipment functionality.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure instrumentation accuracy and reliability.
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all control systems operate within designated parameters and tolerances.
  • Identify potential improvements to instrumentation processes and suggest practical solutions.
  • Manage the calibration of instruments to ensure precise measurements and control.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for staff on instrumentation and control processes.
  • Prepare detailed reports on equipment inspections and system audits for management review.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the workplace.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in instrumentation or control systems.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in instrumentation and control inspection.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control standards and practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail are essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools and testing equipment related to control systems.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting and collaborating with team members.
