Job Description

A Financial Controller plays a critical role within a company by leading its accounting operations and financial planning functions. This key position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reports, maintaining compliance with financial policies and regulations, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. Given the growing complexity of financial laws and the global nature of business, a Financial Controller must possess deep financial insight, managerial acumen, and an ability to navigate a dynamic corporate environment. Serving as a trusted advisor to the executive team, the Financial Controller is instrumental in driving the financial success of the organization and ensuring efficient financial practices are in place to bolster company's overarching goals.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of financial statements ensuring they comply with applicable regulations.
  • Monitor the company's financial performance and provide detailed financial analyses.
  • Develop and manage the annual budgets and financial forecasts for the company.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and reporting systems.
  • Oversee the accounting department to ensure their functions align with corporate objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and financial expertise to senior management and department heads.
  • Coordinate audits and manage relationships with external auditors to ensure successful audit processes.
  • Review and analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data for management review and decision-making.
  • Lead the financial risk management strategy and frameworks to mitigate potential financial risks.
  • Manage company treasury operations including cash flow management and capital expenditure planning.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements through appropriate strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is required.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience in financial management or related field.
  • Exceptional knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution of financial management activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and collaborate with stakeholders.
