Job Description

The position of a Teller is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our bank’s customer service department. As the frontline representative of our financial institution, the Teller plays an integral role in customer interaction, handling transactions with precision, accuracy, and a customer-centric approach. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of banking products and services. A Teller's responsibilities extend beyond merely handling money; they are also responsible for identifying customer needs, providing solutions, and promoting products and services that enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive attitude, integrity, and a knack for assisting customers with a smile.


Responsibilities

  • Handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring minimal errors.
  • Provide personalized customer service by greeting clients and resolving inquiries.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and other standard teller transactions.
  • Balance cash drawers by counting cash at the beginning and end of shifts.
  • Explain, promote, and cross-sell bank products and services to customers.
  • Follow bank policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist customers with account inquiries, complaints, and resolutions swiftly.
  • Verify customer information and documentation for account access and transactions.
  • Identify potential security risks and escalate issues to the appropriate authority.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve service quality.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality by safeguarding their personal and financial information.
  • Be adaptive to using technological tools and resources for transaction handling.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification in related field of study.
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred, ideally in a banking environment.
  • Strong numerical and mathematical accuracy in handling cash and transactions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective customer interaction.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations with a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, software applications, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are critically important.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays if necessary.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality customer service levels.
