Job Description

As a Store Keeper, you will play a critical role in the effective management and control of inventory within our organization. You will be responsible for maintaining inventory, recording daily deliveries, and ensuring proper storage of goods. Your role will necessitate a keen sense of organizational abilities and attention to detail to ensure the efficient operation of the stockroom and that there is a consistent supply of goods to meet day-to-day operations. You will need to work closely with various departments, ensuring materials are available as required while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role is pivotal in safeguarding the organization’s assets by ensuring the storeroom runs smoothly and efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming inventory and supplies in proper locations.
  • Keep accurate inventory records and report any discrepancies to management.
  • Manage stock levels and perform regular physical inventory checks.
  • Ensure the storeroom is organized, clean, and free of hazards at all times.
  • Coordinate with purchasing department to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Issue materials to employees or departments as requested, ensuring proper authorization.
  • Operate and ensure the maintenance of equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Prepare and document stock deliveries for shipping or transport.
  • Monitor and report on inventory utilization and material movements.
  • Implement safety procedures and protocols for handling and storing inventory.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to optimize inventory control.
  • Provide reports and documentation to support inventory audits and inspections.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Store Keeper or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and basic computer usage.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and other departments.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to storeroom management.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items safely and efficiently.
