Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care to our smallest and most vulnerable patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a deep understanding of neonatal care and the capacity to handle emergencies with professionalism and composure. You will play a critical role in supporting infants' health and development, from admission to discharge, while also liaising effectively with family members and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.


Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU.
  • Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and other indicators of health accurately.
  • Administer medications and assist in diagnostic tests according to medical directives.
  • Develop and implement customized care plans in collaboration with medical staff.
  • Participate actively in the resuscitation of infants as required during emergencies.
  • Ensure all medical equipment and NICU facilities are in good working order.
  • Educate and support families during their infant's NICU stay with updates and guidance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Conduct routine assessments and document changes in infants' conditions efficiently.
  • Maintain a sterile and organized environment to meet health and safety standards.
  • Execute discharge planning and parental training for home-based care needs.
  • Stay updated on the latest neonatal care practices and integrate them into nursing routines.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with appropriate regulatory bodies.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Strong ability to work in high-pressure environments with critically ill infants.
  • Exceptional communication skills necessary for patient and family interaction.
  • Demonstrated competence in neonatal life support and emergency response protocols.
  • Adept at using electronic health records for accurate documentation and monitoring.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and adherence to nursing standards.
