Job Description

A Project Finance Associate plays a crucial role in the financial planning and management of both large-scale and small-scale projects. This position requires a keen understanding of financial concepts and project management principles, bridging the gap between financial objectives and project deliverables. The role involves working closely with finance managers, project managers, and various stakeholders to ensure that project financials are analyzed, understood, and represented accurately. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, be adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and have a proven track record of effectively supporting strategic financial planning and execution. A Project Finance Associate's ability to prepare financial models, provide insightful financial analysis, and contribute to decision-making processes is essential for the successful delivery of projects.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed financial models to support project financing and budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate with project teams to collect and analyze financial data and project costs.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to forecast project revenue and expenditure.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project budgets, including monthly variance analysis.
  • Support the project management team in aligning financial objectives with project deliverables.
  • Monitor financial performance against forecasts and highlight potential risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on financial status, forecasts, and variances to stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Participate in negotiations with financial institutions and stakeholders for project financing.
  • Track project invoices and facilitate timely payment and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Ensure that all financial documentation is accurate, complete, and updated regularly.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the project finance department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in finance or accounting roles preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Understanding of project management principles and financial planning techniques.
