The American University of Sharjah invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the field of Natural Water Systems. The successful candidate will contribute to an innovative research project focused on advancing the understanding of water quality, hydrological processes, and ecosystem dynamics through interdisciplinary approaches.

Responsibilities Include

– Leading and conducting field and laboratory experiments related to water systems.

– Operating and maintaining advanced analytical instrumentation, including Liquid Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).

– Analyzing large-scale environmental datasets utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) such as ArcGIS and QGIS.

– Collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams, supervising graduate students, and contributing to high-impact scientific publications.

Requirements

– PhD in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geoscience, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline.

– Proven experience with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).

– Hands-on expertise with LC-MS and GC-MS instrumentation.

– Demonstrated record of independent research and peer-reviewed scientific publishing.

– Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
